In every city, in addition to a wise ruler, a modest administrative apparatus and residents happy with their lives, there are unconscious elements called the “mafia”. With the onset of darkness, dark individuals take to the streets, plotting evil deeds against society. But residents are alert and ready to fight back against anti-social elements. Today on the Pink Sofa is the mafia-hunting board game “Guilty!”

To prevent crimes and maintain order, respectable citizens unite and go out to patrol the streets in the evenings. Seeing a suspicious shadow in an alley, the vigilantes grab the intruder, pack him in the trunk of a special car and take him outside the city walls. Unfortunately, such active defensive actions also have a side effect - an ordinary citizen who is late at an evening meeting can become a “victim of law and order.”

All the residents of a small town fit into a compact box from the Gemenot publishing house. In addition to the square portraits, there was room in the container for round voting tokens and two information sheets.

The positive and highly cultured residents of the city, led by the mayor, are depicted against a green background. Who is there: granddaughters and grandmother, a couple in love, and a detective with a hacker (who, by the way, created a popular social network)… Square tiles with portraits serve as role cards in the game.

Criminal elements are depicted on a red background, symbolizing danger. The mafia boss and his two subordinates will try to cause panic in the ranks of citizens, the lawyer’s task is to justify these outrages, and the psychos... are abnormal people in themselves, they even have a special background, light brown color.

Each square portrait corresponds to a small round medallion, which is useful when voting. Pay attention to the number - it determines the sequence in which a particular character enters the game. According to established tradition, you can distinguish criminal elements from honest citizens by the color of the background.

Under cover of darkness.

So, the time is approaching midnight: voluntary squads have taken to the streets, and criminal elements are rushing about their business, moving along narrow streets in the shadows of buildings. I wonder who will be unlucky today...

To determine the number of people currently present in the city, it is necessary to count the players, and then select the smartest one from them - this person will act as the Universal Mind (or the leader, whoever prefers which term).

The number of cards and types of roles used in the current game are determined by a special reference table. In any case, the number of tiles is equal to the number of players (except the leader) plus three. All unused cardboards are put away in a box.

The cards are shuffled by the leader, then the players receive one random tile, and the remaining ones are placed face down in the center of the table. Note: among the cards lying in the center of the table, there should not be a “mayor” and two mafiosi. The players view the roles they receive and keep them secret from their tablemates. The presenter lays out round medallions in front of him in descending order, takes a reminder in his hand and... everyone falls asleep (closes their eyes, tries not to breathe and generally pretends that they are not there).

The presenter lists the roles, the players “wake up” and perform actions characteristic of their characters. For example: the mafia can get to know each other, a detective can look at one card, a hacker can find out the roles lying in the center of the table. Only the mayor sleeps the sleep of the righteous, since he has nothing to worry about (he is the mayor, and, as you know, everyone needs the mayor - both the mafia and the residents).

After the presenter has listed all the characters, morning comes, all the townspeople wake up and begin to actively find out “who is who.” The goal of civilians is to find the mafia and expel its representatives from the city. The goal of the criminals is to disguise themselves as honest taxpayers and substitute an unsuspecting citizen in their place. To avoid guesswork, you can use round tokens.

As soon as passions have subsided and the players believe that they know the representatives of the criminal environment for certain, the final phase begins - voting. All the round tokens are at the disposal of the host, he distributes one round token to each player and... the mayor wakes up.

Sleepy and happy, he turns his card face up and places his token on the suspect player’s tile. That person, in turn, votes against the next one, and so on, until everyone at the table has expressed “their strong opinion.”

Then the tiles are revealed, and a “lucky person” is determined, who packs the knapsack and runs away from the city. If this is a civilian, then the mafia is celebrating victory. If it was possible to expose at least one mafioso, then he surrenders his accomplices and civilians win. The lawyer and the psycho (these are different people) win under special conditions. There are some other nuances associated with roles, but read about them in the rules.

In the pre-dawn darkness.

The original version of the well-known “Mafia”, in which the “night” is reduced to one single round. There are no “killed” residents idly walking around the table; everyone takes part in the voting until the very end. This, by the way, is a very good innovation; it is this aspect of the rules that is quite often a “stumbling block” in the team, since people who have dropped out of the game have absolutely nothing to do. Additionally, citizens have no room for error. They need to reveal the mafia representatives on the first try by morning, otherwise everyone will lose.

In the game Guilty, some characters can secretly exchange cards. The player learns about the substitution only at the end of the round - from an honest citizen, any citizen can instantly become a criminal. An unexpected surprise... The variety of roles and their special properties, on the one hand, allow you to transform the game, on the other, the minimum number of citizens, in my opinion, should be six “plus” the leader.

As practice has shown, character tokens are much more convenient than rollers. A square tile is quite compact, it is easier to view it secretly, it is less easily soiled and resistant to contamination (Mafia is played quite often at a set table). This is definitely a big plus for designers. But what personally upset me a little were the pictures - to be honest, “not mine.” At the same time, there is absolutely nothing to complain about, since all the images are made in the same style, the drawings are made with a bit of humor and will certainly find their admirer. But, I repeat, not mine. It's a matter of taste and worldview...

An interesting, noteworthy implementation of the well-known “Mafia”. I recommend it for out-of-town trips and cheerful youth groups as an entertaining pastime.

A terrible tragedy occurred in Kerch. The teenager took a gun, came to college and met his peers and teachers. Russia has never encountered anything like this before. No, there were cases when another traveler picked up a weapon and went to shoot at people, but there was never such a number of victims.

And now deputies, politicians and various talking heads from blue screens are looking for who is to blame for the tragedy. It turns out that everything is to blame computer games! ABOUT! What a surprise! Once children play games, they immediately become aggressive and want to go kill everyone.

It's difficult for me to argue with deputies. Indeed, all these war games affect the psyche. But why do we need these half measures? Let's get serious. From TV, children are told about radioactive ash and the prospect of destroying the entire world and going to heaven as martyrs.

Every year, children are dressed up in military uniforms, given toy machine guns in their hands, and sent to watch the missiles that will destroy this very world.

On YouTube there is a video of a play about the war supposedly from “that same” college. It looks like this is fake, but such performances are staged in absolutely all schools in Russia.

Enemies on all sides! The world is asleep and sees how to strangle Russia. You watch newscasts and all sorts of Sunday shows where people are ready to live kill each other, and you think how in this atmosphere of hatred, endless search for enemies and propaganda of militarism you can not go crazy at all. You look at the faces of deputies, governors, mayors, listen to their statements and think how can you not grab a rifle.

And computer games against the backdrop of all this fucked up stuff that spills out across the country from blue screens, which every day outside the window, at work, in hospitals and schools, look like an innocent, sweet prank.

Ban yourself, everyone will immediately feel better.

In a good way, every average city has the head of the executive branch of the government (in other words, a mayor), a modest administrative apparatus and local residents, who are happy or not very happy with their lives. In a bad way, somewhere among these people there will definitely be several representatives of criminal communities (in other words, the mafia).

Local residents, who did not want to become victims of showdowns among criminal groups, decided to eradicate evil from their city in advance, so to speak, to prevent crimes. So a curfew is introduced in the city: you shouldn’t walk the streets at night, otherwise the residents will take you for villains and immediately pronounce the verdict: “Guilty!”

Last day of the mafia

Action in the board game Guilty! lasts only one day and one night, so the unofficial name of the game sounds like “the last day of the mafia.” There are no familiar, boring civilians here, and each character is unique and colorful in their own way. For example, the Crook once lost his documents at cards, so now he lives according to strangers, the Blogger knows how to find even the most hidden information on the World Wide Web, and the Drunkard often gets drunk as hell, and therefore does not remember who he is and where he is.

As expected, all the action takes place at night: the mafia gets to know each other, the hacker finds out the available roles, the detective checks the suspects, and the mayor sleeps sweetly. As morning comes, discussions and gossip begin, civilians try to figure out the mafia, and the mafia tries to frame the civilians in every possible way. At this time, among others, there is a Psycho, whose task is to convince others that he is the criminal.

Voting in the game Guilty! What happens is quite interesting: the mayor is the first to reveal his card and vote against one of the participants. Now the accused participant casts his vote against and so on until everyone has made their choice. The player with the most votes is sentenced: “Guilty!” If a representative of the mafia is accused, the civilians win; if one of the townspeople is accused, the mafia will win. Situations with a draw are supposed to be decided by the mayor of the city.

Board game Guilty - a great mind has gone to lunch!

Rules of the game Guilty! do not provide for the option of holding a game without a leader, however, this is quite possible to organize. One of the participants who is well acquainted with the rules can play the game while simultaneously playing the role of one of the characters. He'll just be with eyes closed announce who is waking up and what they are doing, and then count to five and announce the next action. As practice has shown, when playing with ten players, this maneuver works perfectly.

Game cards Guilty! are perfect for classic Mafia, however, if you are used to the original characters (mafia, don, civilians), you can safely choose issues and. Know, now is the time to fight back against evil and tear off all masks!
