Download games from Microsoft to your computer. Microsoft Games what kind of program is this? Is it possible to delete the Microsoft Games folder

Standard games can be deleted, but then difficult to restore. To do this, you can use a restore point or install everything from scratch.

If, in pursuit of space and speed, you accidentally deleted standard games, then don’t despair, they are easy to restore. You have two options. The first one is to download. This option is suitable for those who have not created restore points and who do not have a backup copy of their OS. If you created restore points in advance or you have a backup copy, then you can restore everything; all you need to do is use your experience.

How to restore standard Microsoft games

Let's look at the two simplest options. Some users are so eager to restore everything that was lost that they even reinstall the system because of them. This is not required at all, since there is an official selection that includes absolutely all standard games. The procedure is as follows:

  • Download archive;
  • Install all/selectively;
  • Enjoy;

In the archive attached to this article you will find absolutely all standard applications. Among them there are Solitaire, Pinball, Minesweeper and other products. You don't have to install them all, but choose only one or two, at your discretion. They are original copies and allow you to get everything for free. If you don’t want to install them yourself, but want to restore them, then you need to act differently.

You need to remember when last time you had the games up and running. Next, you need to use “Standard” tools to restore the system through “Restore Points” to a date as close as possible to the date when everything worked for you. After all, sometimes the problem is not that you deleted it, but that they stopped working. All this will help restore performance. An alternative option is to restore the system from a backup or from the original build. This will allow you not to download anything, but to restore them from the official source. Whatever option you choose, working with restore points and backups requires certain skills, so it may be easier to download an archive of Microsoft games and install them on your computer in two clicks. Hello Internet users, advanced Internet people and just those who are not yet experienced users. Today we will talk about such a program as Microsoft Games, I will tell you what it is in general and why. Well, if you went to school more or less, then you probably know a little English, well, a little, so I think it’s clear here that Microsoft Games are games from the software giant Microsoft. For those who don’t know what it is, I’ll just say in a nutshell that your Windows was made by Microsoft, I think that’s enough

So I have Windows 7 and somehow, while browsing through the folders of the Windows universe, I wandered into the Program Files folder and see that there is a Microsoft Games folder there, well, I think it’s probably games

In general, look, I went into the Program Files folder, and there is a folder inside, look here it is:

I open the Microsoft Games folder, and inside look at what folders there are, there is Chess, FreeCell, Hearts, in general there are a lot of games here:

The last folder is called SpiderSolitaire, let's go into it, here's what's inside this folder:

Well, I’m very interested, so I run the SpiderSolitaire.exe file, after which the game started, there was another window where I need to select the difficulty level, look:

I chose a beginner, and that’s it, the cards began to scatter:

But, alas, I’m not much of a card player, I don’t know how to play at all, I used to be embarrassed about it, but now I’m not interested in it at all.. Well, that’s it..

Well, in general, I think it’s clear what Microsoft Games is? Yes, this is not a program, this is the general name for Microsoft games. But maybe somewhere you will see such a name, then you know that this means standard Windows games

By the way, I right-clicked on this folder and selected Properties, well, to see how much this folder weighs, and look, it weighs 142 mega, not very much:

Is it possible to delete the Microsoft Games folder?

Yes, that's a good question. If you are a user who monitors the cleanliness of Windows and wants it to work quickly, then of course all the junk or simply unnecessary things should be removed from Windows. But this should be done with extreme caution, or there may be troubles in the form of glitches and lags. In theory, the Microsoft Games folder can be deleted; only one thing can prevent this, and that is that the folder is a system folder. But in any case, I’ll try to do it now, well, delete it, I mean. To do this, I’ll first try the usual method, that is, I’ll just right-click on the folder and select Delete there:

Honestly, I won’t lie, I don’t know for sure whether it will be possible to remove it or not. Then the following message popped up, then I clicked Yes:

But alas, I had an error like Request permission from the system to change this folder:

Do you think everything is lost? Nothing like this! So, I clicked Cancel, and then you know, I have the Unlocker utility installed in Windows, it’s very good, because it can delete everything that doesn’t want to be deleted properly! Yes, you can struggle with the rights there, but personally it’s a burden for me; in such cases I use Unlocker. Therefore, I again right-click on the folder, select the Unlocker item (I already have the utility installed):

Then there was such a window, it says that no blocking descriptor was found, this is good, that is, no one is stopping us from deleting this folder! Therefore, in the menu on the left you need to select Delete and then click OK:

After this, the deletion began, with this little green stripe you can see how much is left:

But you know, it was removed quite quickly, it just sometimes happens that it can drag on for three minutes... But everything is clear here, there is no headache, in the end I saw this message:

Well what can I say? All in a bundle, gentlemen! I checked later, there really is no folder. That's how you learned how to delete something that doesn't want to be deleted, now you have some skills that will help you clean out Windows from the trash..

Sometimes after its work, the Unlocker utility asks to reboot, and you know, guys, this is also normal, it’s just that some actions can be done when Windows has not yet come to its senses, that is, it has not loaded

Well, guys, that’s all, did you understand everything here? I hope so, if you notice any mistakes, please let me know. Good luck and all the best to you
