Console commands for saying goodbye to a knife
To get rid of the blade, previously it was necessary to find a server with cheat mode enabled and only then try to throw it away. And it didn’t always work out. Now the problem of how to throw away a knife in CS GO is not worth it. After the next update at the end of January 2016, this feature appeared by default on all servers.
So, to be able to throw out a tool, you need to enter a certain command through the console:
mp_drop_knife_enable 1
This can be done from anywhere - the main menu, the game itself, and so on. The command will be active until it is disabled using another: mp_drop_knife_enable 0.
After this combination is registered, you can safely go to any server and reset the knife. It can be thrown away just like any other weapon. In this case, the blade will remain on the map until the end of the round. And anyone can pick it up, just like other guns.
There is no need to worry that a discarded blade will disappear from the map or inventory. Even if another player picks up the lost tool, he will not be able to steal the skin itself from the owner. You can only play with a skin knife until you die.
What happens if there are no weapons in your hands?
It’s worth thinking about, why throw away a knife in CS GO? And what happens if the player has no other weapon?
If you throw away only a knife, it will immediately be replaced in your hands by the next item (a bomb, a pistol or something else). But if you get rid of the entire arsenal, there will be nothing left. Even your hands will disappear, there will only be a blank screen with a thin screen (which, by the way, can also be turned off in CS GO). An excellent mode for screenshots if you want to capture something while playing.
And as a result of jogging lightly, your speed will increase by 10 units, even compared to a knife and a bomb. You can easily check this by entering the command into the console cl_showpos 1 and looking at the numbers that appear in the upper right corner.
Meaning Vel is the speed of movement. With the most light weapons speed is 250 units. And without everything – 260 units. This may be useful for some players - for example, on BHop servers you can throw everything out of your inventory and quickly jump.
Why throw away the blade at all?
Now you can easily get rid of the knife. But why is this needed at all? What's the point of throwing away a player's basic weapon, which can be used in completely hopeless situations?

But before you replace textures, select the required weapon model for cs go on our resource. Browse the proposed skins for knives, pistols and other weapons. Download the weapon model as an archive. Inside there will be a special folder with all the data of the downloaded model. Thus, the Materials folder should be moved to the CSGO directory with the files completely replaced.

I warn you right away that the knife will be visible only to you and only in public, do not even think about meddling with it in matchmaking.
- Open a file with the name items_game.txt, which is located in the following path: C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\SteamApps\common\Counter-Strike Global Offensive\csgo\scripts\items
- Having launched it, open the search bar (CTRL+F), where you enter v_knife_default_t.mdl(for terrorists) and v_knife_default_ct.mdl(for counters).
- Replace the found line with one of the knives you like:
v_knife_bayonet.mdl- Bayonet-knife.
v_knife_flip.mdl- Folding knife.
v_knife_gut.mdl- A knife with a hook blade.
v_knife_karam.mdl- Karambit.
v_knife_m9_bay.mdl- M9 Bayonet knife.
v_knife_tactical.mdl- Hunting knife.
v_knife_butterfly.mdl- Butterfly knife.
Then, satisfied, go into the game and enjoy the beautiful knife. Don't forget to make a copy of the file you are looking for before making changes, you never know what will go wrong.
Method No. 2
You install a small program that changes the standard skins of not only knives, but also other weapons. It's called CS:GO Changer. Now briefly about it.
- Be careful, you can get a VAC ban at any time;
- with this program it does not kick from matchmaking, but see the message above;
- run the program from a flash drive, and then remove it from the computer, in this case the probability of getting a ban is reduced to the minimum acceptable values;
- It is enough to install skins once so that they do not disappear when you start the game again.
How to install:
- go into the game;
- open the SOFT tab, where you click “enable”;
- start the game and buy weapons;
- open the program menu with the HOME button;
- install the skin you want.
