Ede my love walkthrough. an old friend is better than two new ones

In Fallout: New Vegas you can take two companions to help you (1 mechanical and 1 living). If they agree to join, you will receive a unique .

So choose partners based on the benefits for your build and playstyle.

In total, there are 8 characters available for hire in the game, I suggest you familiarize yourself with their location and recruiting conditions. I will also look at some of the quests that your companions can give, how to solve them, and possible rewards for completing them.

ED-I (ED-E)

ED-I is a robot designed for reconnaissance and combat operations. It is a flying mechanical ball with a laser gun. When attacking, a cheerful patriotic march plays.

It is located in Primm, in the Mojave Express Couriers building, although in a broken state. To get ED-I as a companion, you will have to repair it. There are several options available for this:

  • Repair required equal to 65
  • Requires a repair skill of 35 if you have a science skill of 55
  • Repair with scrap materials (all of them can be found at the gas station in Novak, opposite the motel)

There is a rather confusing quest associated with ED-I, which is not clear how to complete. So I'm showing my cards.

Quest ED-E My Love

We learn from the quest log that we need to go to the Gibson Scrap Yard in Novak. And, in fact, nothing more. Arriving at the place and talking with the old woman about the nearby Helios One power plant, ED-I activates one of the messages recorded in it.

To complete this quest you will have to activate all these messages in this way. To do this, he will need to hear others keywords, here is their list:

  • Air Force Base
  • Archimedes
  • Eden
  • Enclave
  • Navarro

All these words can be heard by talking with Arcade Gannon in the Mormon Fort, which is also one of the possible companions of our hero, and going to Nellis AFB.

They are also located in these places, so we kill two birds with one stone.

Several in-game days (from 2 to 9) must pass between the activation of messages. After completing this quest, the ED-I upgrade will become available.

If you team up with the Brotherhood of Steel, he will receive new armor, and if with the Followers of the Apocalypse, then a new weapon. I recommend choosing the second if it does not conflict with your roleplaying.

Attention: empty his inventory before giving him away for an upgrade, because he will return to you with completely empty pockets.

Rex

The second robotic companion is a cyborg dog. Located in Freeside at the headquarters of the Kings faction.

Attacks enemies at close range, biting and knocking them over onto their shoulder blades. To get him as a companion you will have to complete the main quest of the Kings. After this, a task will become available, the purpose of which will be to find a new brain for Rex.

After completing the quest you will receive him as your companion. Depending on which brain you get, Rex will receive various bonuses. Here is their list:

  • You can get the brain of one of her dogs from Granny Gibson at the Novak landfill by buying it or talking her through giving it away. Rex will receive a bonus to damage.
  • To the west of New Vegas there is the Violetta trailer park, there you will find a pack of dogs, I think it’s clear what to do next. Rex will receive a bonus to movement speed.
  • At the Legion Fort, talk to Anthony about Lupa. As a result, you will find yourself 1 on 1 with an angry dog. Rex will receive a bonus to armor.

Arcade Gannon

It is located in Freeside at the Mormon Fort. To recruit him, you need eloquence equal to 75, Confirmed Bachelor (Confirmed Bachelor) or a high level of reputation with the Followers of the Apocalypse.

He will also join you out of pity if the character's intelligence level is low enough. The guy is very useful thanks to his perk, with which you will receive 20% more health from healing drugs and food.

Shoots from energy weapons, although in battle it is not very useful without good equipment.

Advice: equip him with heavy armor as soon as possible. It’s useful to a fault, the main thing is to equip it to the fullest.

It would be possible to sell him into slavery to Caesar as a personal doctor.

Cass

Found in the Mojave Outpost bar in the southwest. To get her as a partner you will have to work for the Crimson Caravan Company.

Dress her in heavy armor, give her a shotgun, and enemies will fly away from her in the form of cutlets with enviable regularity.

Especially if you complete her quest through combat, which will give you +15% to the damage dealt. Solving problems peacefully will increase her health level by 50.

Craig Boone

One of the snipers who sits in the mouth of a huge dinosaur in Novak on the night shift. To recruit, you need to complete a quest to find the one who killed his wife.

If you do it correctly, that is, hand over the real culprit, then you can persuade him to travel with you. Legion representatives will be hostile regardless of your reputation with them if Boone is with you.

After completing his quest, he will change into an NCR uniform, this won't do much good, but he will look much cooler. In general, one of the most useful comrades in terms of combat suitability.

It blows enemies to pieces from afar even with a basic weapon, and if you give them a more impressive gun, it will turn out the lights. Just a must have.

Lily

Super Mutant Lily can be found in Jacobstown. To recur, you need to complete the quest “Guess Who I Saw Today” and make sure that Lily remains alive after Dr. Henry’s tests.

Takes out packs of enemies in close combat, and also enters berserk mode when health is low, which increases her striking power even more. This level of health can be controlled by asking her to take her medications on time.

B, unfortunately, is useless, as it will die very quickly.

Introduction

Hello, dear Mojave couriers! In this mini-guide, I will tell you where to find all 5 upgrades for the robot eye ED-E - one of the Courier's partners. The improvements are located in the Rift, where we get through the Lonesome Road add-on.

Each improvement gives the ED-E or Courier a certain bonus or ability: item creation, passive effects, etc. Go!

Robot #1 - Hopeville Missile Silo Bunker

You will find yourself in this location almost at the very beginning of the game. At the beginning of the bunker there will be 2 doors. The robot is in the door on the left, but it will be closed. After going through the right door you will find ED-E, which will help open this very door on the left. The robot will lie right in front of your nose. It's extremely hard to miss.

Having received the first rank you will be able to receive daily bonus to the condition of the weapon by 25% (activation through dialogue with ED-E).

Robot #2 - Hopeville Missile Base Headquarters

Coming out of the bunker where the first robot was, one of the first locations you will find will most likely be the Hopeville Missile Base Headquarters. Go to the headquarters and carefully examine the building. Under the table with 2 rusty terminals there will be a second robot eye.

Having received the second rank, ED-E will be able to produce a backpack charge, flamethrower fuel, energy or micronuclear batteries daily through dialogue with him.

Robot #3 - Ashton silo (first level)

After the battle with the Tunnelers on the elevator platform, go through the door and you will find yourself on the first level of Ashton's silo (there will also be a table with an orange glowing thing). Go through the far right door. Opening it, you will notice a large door and a terminal in the distance. Hacking requires Science skill = 75. If your skill is not enough, then you can raise it with the “Programmer's Digest” magazine or some kind of chemistry for intelligence, or return later. It is possible cheat, if conscience allows.
The screenshot shows the room behind this very door.

Upon reaching the third rank, the Courier and ED-E will receive an additional 2 units to the Damage Limit.

Robot #4 - A place near the entrance to Avvadon's cave

If according to the plot you have already opened Avvadon's cave, then move to it via Fast Travel. Turn around and go outside. After going a little forward, on the left you will see a warhead (if it has not yet been detonated) and a large pipe. The robot is to the left of the pipe.

The robot is located near the player's mark. The location on the right on the Area Map is highlighted for reference.

Upon reaching rank four, the Courier and ED-E will receive +5 damage from laser weapons.

Robot #5 - City sewer near the Municipal building

You are unlikely to find the location if you follow the plot strictly, so its location is shown on the map below.

Having moved to the indicated location, look for a pipe with a grate that will help you move into the sewer. The pipe is located between the 2nd and 3rd floors of the location. Use the Area Map in the Pip-Boy if there are complications. The sewerage is small, you will find the robot without difficulty.

“If I die, will YOU dream about me?”

Are you tired of the flying robot eye ED-E? If yes, then this replacer companion is the sexy ED-E for you.

IMPORTANT

If you've already encountered ED-E and repaired it, this mod may do strange things to your game once you download it. It is highly recommended to create a clean save before activating the mod, or use it with a new game.

Sexual ED-E

Inspired by: the fembot quest in Fallout 3, Radiohead's "Fake Plastic Trees" (who doesn't love songs about breast implants and other things?), the Beatles' "Sexy Sadie" which I listened to while drinking beer and watching Geck on the screen my monitor.

"She looks just like the real thing.
And it tastes just like the real thing too,
My fake plastic love
But I can't help feeling
That I can seep through the ceiling
If I suddenly push off and fly up.

And it's so exhausting to me, it's so exhausting to me...
It's exhausting me, it's exhausting me..."

Do you want your first real companion to spice up your life and make your trip to Las Vegas unforgettable?

Say hello to Eddie (ED-E), an advanced android who not only has the ability to kill and work as a spy-infiltrator, but also the ability to seduce one lucky courier.

Rescued from the busy wastelanders, damaged in battle and left to rot in Primm, ED-E is now waiting for you, her new owner, who can repair her and bring her back to life.

I did my best to make her a more sensitive robot, inspired by the android quest in Fallout 3. If the Institute has advanced robots, then why couldn't other organizations have them too.

Perhaps I missed the humor of the originals Fallout games 1 and 2, but there should be enough humor here too. Therefore, if you are easily offended, do not enter the terminal!

The mod features a computer terminal with a lot of backstory about how Edie (ED-E) “got” to the state in which you find her.

Translator's note: IN original fashion the author suggested b ABOUT better choice of appearance for the new ED-E (Asian brunette, Caucasian blonde, red-haired Irish girl, short-haired brunette), but since the author made small mistakes in the facegen, then ALL faces is in fashion greenish tint, which turned out to be difficult to remove in Geck, so instead of the author’s options, an alternative is offered - ED-Zida.

IMPORTANT NOTE! Attention! Attention!
This mod does NOT overwrite existing model ED-E. It rewrites scripts.

Therefore, if you have vanilla ED-E as a companion, it is quite possible that it will freeze. What happens if you return to Primm and interact with the new humanoid ED-E? ... Don't know.

I haven't tested the game with a save where I would have already met ED-E and invited him to join me.
The reason is that the original ED-E remains unchanged in the game. The scripts have been modified to use my own female models and I believe this will make your vanilla ED-E uncontrollable.

As far as I can tell, it's impossible to convert a vanilla ED-E (creature) into a human NPC without advanced Blender/Nifskope knowledge, which I don't have.

Will ED-E level up with me?
Yes.

Is ED-E immortal?
Only if you don't play Hardcore mode.

What about the equipment and skills of the new ED-E?

Basic model ED-E:
Class - prostitute. ED-E is not the best fighter in the early game.
The ED-E outfit was put on her by her former owner. Damage limit 6, outfit can be removed from inventory.
Weapons: (not removable, built into ED-E.)
- Laser pistol. Operates from an internal ED-E power source and does not require cartridges. However, it still requires "reloading" to prevent continuous firing. Damage: 10
- Club - damage 10.

ED-E with upgraded armor (after the update from the Brotherhood of Steel)
Class - security officer.

Skills: melee, weapon, unarmed.
Health points - doubled compared to the base model. ED-E will be harder to kill.
Armor: Armored underwear (removable) - damage limit 20 (more than combat armor, less than power armor).
Weapons: same as above.

ED-E with upgraded weapons (after the update from the Followers of the Apocalypse)
Class: Energy Soldier.

Skills: energy weapons, melee weapons, pistols. Removable.
Health Points: Same as the base model.
Armor: Upgraded Pajamas: Damage limit - 12. Slightly weaker than combat armor.
Weapon: not removable.
- "ED-E Claw" - a short blade deals 27 damage for each blow.
- "ED-E blaster" is a plasma weapon. Deals 25 damage, but fires 2 projectiles.

If I give ED-E best weapon, will she use it?
Yes. Don't forget to add ammunition to her inventory.

How should I change her?
Her clothes are removable. Like Barbie and Ken dolls! So don't hesitate to change her clothes.

Jujukit: "I already had ED-E in the game and wanted to use this mod.

I went to the console and entered the command "resetquest 001572e8", which restarts the quest "ED-E, my love". Then I activated the ESP mod. I repaired the new ED-E, and received messages in the Pip-Boy about a new quest. I also deactivated via the console (call the console, click on ED-E, and enter the command "disable") the old vanilla ED-E, which was still spinning around. I think this will help reduce the problems of having two ED-Es existing at the same time. The old ED-E can always be restored via the console if I need it."

Yamiken: "If you want to use the "Unlimited Companions" mod, try putting this mod AFTER "Unlimited Companions" in the load queue.

The mod contains more than 500 original lines of text, which cover both entries in the terminal and comments from ED-E itself.

If you wish, you can download and install a “voice” that will replace the original ED-E beeping with alternative sounds.

IMPORTANT 2

After you repair the ED-E, ask how you can call it remotely - Dialogue - Show me additional settings.

A walkie-talkie will be added to your inventory, with which you can communicate with ED-E, or you can teleport to it yourself, or teleport it to yourself.

IMPORTANT 3

Before changing ED-E's hairstyle through dialogue, create a save. The resulting result may categorically not suit you, and you most likely won’t be able to return to the original version - to change hairstyles, the author created a bunch of races of the same type, which differ from each other only in their hairstyles.

So don't change your hairstyle ED-E

In Primm, in the Nash house, there is a broken, modified Enclave robot spy on the table. In order for the robot to become your companion, it needs to be repaired. This can be done with the skills “Repair” (65), or “Science” (55) and “Repair” (35), or with the help of spare parts (3 pieces of scrap metal, 2 sensor modules, 1 piece of electronic waste).
ED-E's memory contains two audio recordings left by his creator, Wheatley. You need to force the robot to play them. Playback starts after conversations with some NPCs, with certain remarks containing the keyword “HELIOS One” (ED-E must be among your companions). Some characters' lines do not contain the words "HELIOS One", but nevertheless activate audio recordings (for example: Mr. House's request to find the Bombers at Nellis Air Force Base).
Conversations with the following characters may trigger the first audio recording to play:

  • Mother Gibson at Mother Gibson's Landfill (question about the HELIOS One station).
  • Nameless NKR fighters at the HELIOS One station (random remarks mentioning the station).
  • Dr. Henry in Jacobstown (question about the Enclave).
  • Trouble in Jacobstown, in the event that Doctor Henry moved to the Bunker of the Remainers (ask about Doctor Henry).
  • Ignacio Rivas at HELIOS One station (question about the ARCHIMEDES project and the Brotherhood of Steel).
  • Knight Torres in the Hidden Valley bunker.
  • Student Watkins in the Hidden Valley bunker (question about the HELIOS One station).
  • Nameless knights of the Brotherhood of Steel in the Hidden Valley bunker (replicas mentioning Elder Elijah and HELIOS One station).
  • Thomas Hildern at Camp McCarran (Hoover Dam issue). This question can only be asked at the beginning of the quest “The Grass Will Not Grow.”
  • Mr. House during the quest “The Casino Always Wins, III” (ask him about the Bombers).
  • Michael Angelo in his studio on the Strip (question about local attractions).
  • Colonel Cassandra Moore at the Hoover Dam (question about the first assignment for the quest “For the Republic, Part 2”).
  • Science fiction on the Hoover Dam (if, as a result of the quest “Sun Flares”, energy was supplied to the Strip and McCarran).
  • Quartermaster Mayes at the Forlorn Hope camp, during the quest "Returning Hope" (question where to look for supplies).
  • Caesar, if during the quest “Glare of the Sun” you activated the HELIOS One security system and destroyed the NKR fighters at the station (welcome comment).
  • Veronica during the quest " Lots of worries" (after examining Elder Elijah's notes in the terminal at Mama Gibson's Junkyard).

  • After the first audio recording has been played, you must wait five full game days. During this time, ED-E will not respond to keywords, even if they appear in character lines. After five days, you can contact one of the characters listed above to repeat the keyword and force ED-E to play a second audio recording.
For most characters, keywords appear only once (usually in quest dialogues).
After two game days, ED-E will contact you. Senior Knight Lorenzo from the Hidden Valley bunker, using the robot as a radio transmitter, asks you to visit Hidden Valley and give ED-E to the Brotherhood of Steel for study. After a Brotherhood patrol at REPCONN Headquarters is found dead, April Martimer of the Followers of the Apocalypse gets in touch with a similar proposal - visit the Old Mormon Fort and give ED-E to the Followers for study.
You can only choose one side. Choosing between the Brotherhood of Steel and the Disciples of the Apocalypse will not affect the reputation of these factions. The only thing that the choice affects is what kind of modernization the ED-E will receive.
After three in-game days, you will receive the message “ED-E has returned to Primm.” The robot can be taken back as a companion in Primm, in the Nash house.
  • If the offer of the Brotherhood of Steel was chosen, the ED-E armor will be increased (the robot will receive +12 to PU).
  • If the offer of the Followers of the Apocalypse was chosen, the ED-E's weapons will be improved (the robot will receive an improved laser cannon as a weapon with damage +5 and DPS +200%).
