Will there be a resident evil 7 game. Did you know that

Resident Evil 7: Biohazard is a survival horror game published and developed by the Japanese company Capcom for PC and consoles. The PlayStation 4 version supports virtual reality via PlayStation helmet VR The game is the 27th part of the series Resident Evil . For the first time in key game The series uses a 1st person view. The announcement of the game took place at E3 2016, at which time players were able to see a teaser trailer with gameplay, Resident Evil 7 Teaser: Beginning Hour.

Gameplay

The new protagonist Ethan, like the heroes of past games, has access to pistols, shotguns, axes, flamethrowers, explosives, chainsaws and other various weapons. According to the developers, the degree of action in the gameplay has been reduced. Ethan is confronted by mutants. The game contains mechanics typical of previous games: puzzle solving, resource management, healing herbs. There are no QTE events, however. Initially, the player's main enemy is the Baker family: father Jack, mother Margarita and son Lucas. Each of them has its own gameplay features. Skirmishes with Jack are the closest to action, skirmishes with Margarita require a stealth approach, and Lucas sets up sophisticated traps for Ethan. Also, the player will have to fight monsters.

On PlayStation 4, the entire game can be played in virtual mode, but the key gameplay mechanics do not differ from the standard mode.

Plot

Events take place in 2017, approximately 4 years after ResidentEvil 6 , in the fictional town of Dulvey, Louisiana. New protagonist Ethan Winters is a civilian, so he has less combat skills than most older protagonists in the series. Ethan searches for his missing wife Mia after receiving a letter from her. His search leads him to a house in an abandoned plantation owned by the Baker family.

The game begins with Ethan traveling to Louisiana after a request from Mia. Mia claims to be in Louisiana, despite the fact that she disappeared 3 years ago and is presumed dead. At his destination, Ethan discovers an abandoned farmhouse. He finds a TV with a video in which a certain trio of men enters the house, but someone kills them one by one. In front of the basement room where Mia is imprisoned, he finds a list of names next to which are marked “dead” or “transformed”; the list includes the people from the video, as well as Mia, who is unmarked. Mia nervously says that they need to run before “Daddy” finds them. Additionally, Mia denies sending Ethan a letter. However, when Ethan and Mia go up, Mia, transformed into a zombie, goes berserk and attacks Ethan, seriously injuring him. Ethan is forced to kill her. The phone rings, Ethan picks it up and learns from a woman named Zoe that there is an escape route through the attic. However, Ethan once again has to deal with Mia, who strangely survived the first battle. Ethan bends over the murdered Mia when he is knocked out by Jack Baker, the head of the Baker family.

Ethan wakes up in the company of the apparently deranged Baker family: Jack, his wife Margarita and their adult son Lucas, as well as an unnamed old woman in a wheelchair. The Bakers try to force Ethan to eat their food and begin torturing him, but are distracted by a phone call. Ethan breaks free from his ties and looks for a way out of the house. Zoe, who calls herself Jack's daughter, helps him from time to time. When a policeman comes to inspect the house, Ethan tries to warn him about the Bakers, but the officer does not take the warning seriously and is killed by Jack. In turn, Ethan kills Jack, but soon discovers that Jack and his relatives have powerful regenerative abilities. They are able to heal wounds that would be fatal to an ordinary person. In addition, Ethan must avoid monstrous creatures created by the Bakers from kidnapped people. Ethan encounters Jack a second time, kills him, and obtains the key needed to exit the house.

Walking into the yard, Ethan learns from Zoe that Mia survived because she has the same infection as the Bakers. Zoe informs him that she also wants to escape, but both she and Mia need to be cured of the infection first with a special serum. Ethan goes to the old house to get ingredients for the serum, where he meets and kills Margarita. Having received the ingredient, Ethan begins to experience strange visions of a certain girl. He returns to Zoe, but sees that Mia and Zoe have been taken hostage by Lucas. Lucas forces Ethan to walk through a barn full of monsters and traps, but Ethan is more cunning and forces Lucas to flee. He then saves Mia and Zoey and Zoey takes 2 doses of the serum. However, at this moment, a heavily mutated Jack attacks, and Ethan is forced to spend one dose on killing Jack. Ethan should give the remaining dose to Mia or Zoey.

Zoe's Path

Zoe's choice breaks Mia's heart, despite Ethan's promises to send her help. As Ethan and Zoey leave on the boat, Zoey reveals that the Bakers were infected 3 years ago due to the arrival of Mia with the girl Evelina, which occurred after the tanker crash. But when they swim up to that same tanker, Evelina attacks them. Zoey is killed and Ethan is knocked out. He sees Jack sane; Jack warns that Evelina has the ability to brainwash any person she infects. This is why the Baker family went crazy. Jack begs Ethan to kill Evelina.

The game switches to Mia's point of view, waking up on a broken ship and beginning her search for Ethan. When Ethan is found, the player acts as him again. Mia gives Ethan a vial of Evelina's DNA. Due to the feeling of betrayal from Ethan's choice, she finds it difficult to resist Evelina's control. Mia attacks Ethan and Ethan kills her.

Mia's Path

Zoe reluctantly remains on the dock while Ethan and Mia leave on the boat. Near the tanker they are attacked by Evelina. Ethan is knocked out. He again experiences a vision with Jack reporting Evelina's danger. The game then switches to Mia's point of view. She searches for Ethan, but experiences visions of Evelina, who claims that Mia is her mother. Mia herself doesn’t remember anything about the girl. Later, Evelina shows Mia a video: Mia worked for a certain corporation that was developing Evelina as a biological weapon. Mia was supposed to transport Evelina to the USA on a tanker. During the voyage, Evelina escaped from captivity and sank the ship, then infected Mia to force her to become her mother. Realizing her role in Evelina's creation, Mia rescues Ethan and gives him the vial containing Evelina's DNA. She manages to keep Evelina's control over herself until Ethan escapes from the ship.

Ending

After leaving the ship, Ethan goes into a salt mine and finds a hidden laboratory. He learns that Evelina is an "E-series" biological weapon. She is able to control the minds of people infected with her. Side effects infections are madness, strong abilities to regeneration, extreme mutations. Evelina grew up obsessed with having a family of her own, so she infected Mia and the Bakers. Lucas was secretly working with an unknown organization and obtained a serum that prevented Evelina's control, but pretended to be controlled by her. Through a laboratory experiment and a vial received from Mia, Ethan synthesizes a toxin that is fatal to Evelina. He follows the tunnels and returns to the original farmhouse. After learning that Ethan has the toxin, Evelina sends him powerful visions and hallucinations to keep him at bay. Ethan still manages to inject Evelyn with the toxin. To his surprise, he sees that Evelina is the old woman from the beginning of the game. The toxin causes the old woman Evelina to mutate into a huge monster. The monster attacks Ethan, and he manages to destroy it only thanks to special weapons, dropped from a military helicopter.

Now the danger is over. Ethan is rescued by a military team led by a man named Redfield. If Ethan chose Zoey's path, in the helicopter he finds only Mia's modest personal possessions - a purse and a phone with an old videotape for Ethan in which Mia says she misses Ethan. In grief, Ethan throws his phone out of the helicopter. If Ethan chose Mia's path, then Mia survives.

The logo of the newly reformed Umbrella Corporation can be seen on the departing helicopter.

Development

After release ResidentEvil 6 producer Masachika Kawata noted that there was a serious discussion at Capcom further development series; company employees saw that the scale last game, covering bioterrorist attacks around the world, got out of control and caused the series to lose its specificity. Therefore, Kawata's boss and executive producer of the future game, Jun Takeuchi, demanded " cut the series down to its core- horror. To ensure the atmosphere of the game, the developers limited themselves to one location and chose a 1st person view. Development began in February 2014. Were fully prepared new line-up characters, new engine RE Engine with development tools for virtual reality. At E3 2015, Capcom presented a first-person virtual horror demo KITCHEN, built on this engine. In the logo of this horror game, the letter "T" resembled the number "7", which was a hint to Resident Evil 7; but Kawata said the hint went unnoticed.

In an interview after the game's announcement at E3 2016, the game's director, Koshi Nakanishi, a former director, was revealed ResidentEvil: Revelations. The entire development team was approximately 120 people and was selected exclusively from Capcom Japan. However, for the first time in the series, the narrative designer was a Westerner, Richard Pearcy, author of two expansions F. E. A. R. and one of the narrative designers SpecOps: TheLine. When asked about games similar to Resident Evil 7, Nakanishi replied: “ all horror games are from 1st person, likeOutlast"; but the player was given the opportunity to use weapons against enemies. By the time of presentation the game was 65% ready.

Some of the creature models for Resident Evil 7 were originally created in physical form, often from meat, and then scanned using photogrammetry. When traveling to Louisiana to study the setting, the developers encountered the problem of transporting these prototypes, so some of the models had to be created digitally.

Capcom teamed up with creative agency iam8bit to create an escape room Resident Evil Escape Room Experience, in which groups of 6 people walked to the exit behind employees of the Umbrella Corporation. The room was in Los Angeles.

Release

The game was released on all three platforms simultaneously. For a year after release, the virtual reality format will be exclusive to PlayStation VR. Confirmed the ability to transfer saves between Windows and Xbox One. A digital version purchased from the Windows Store or Xbox One is supported on both platforms through the Xbox Play Anywhere program; Thus, Resident Evil 7 became the first game from a third-party company published under this program.

GameStop Exclusive Collector's Edition Includes: 20cm model of the Bakers' house, which when opened acts as a music box, playing the main theme " Go Tell Aunt Rhody"; a video cassette with a 4GB finger-shaped flash drive hidden inside; metal case with game; lithograph of the Baker family; a special note for the player.

To the UK version special edition DLC included Survival Pack: Action Set, an illustrated book for the 20th anniversary of the series, an 18 cm replica of the house, but without the music box.

After the release of the game, a free additional story chapter “Not a Hero” is available, then paid DLC will be released. To enhance the effect of virtual reality, a candle was produced with digital scent technology of the Bakers' home.

Reception

Before release, the game was compared to a closed project Silent Hills and a demo version of the game P.T.(Konami), due to the use of a 1st person view. Capcom responded that Resident Evil 7 was in development even before the presentation P. T. , and denied rumors about the involvement of the developers of this game in Resident Evil 7. Shacknews noted that the teaser Beginning Hour look like SweetHome(1989), a Capcom horror title that influenced the first game ResidentEvil(1996). So, in old game Konami also features an abandoned house, a supernatural female creature, and the tragic fate of the family who lived in the house. Eurogamer demo version Resident Evil 7Lantern, presented at Gamescom 2016, was compared with Alien: Isolation. The difference between the game and ResidentEvil 6 , her departure from action to horror, was received positively.

A day after release, the game had the following scores on Metacritic: 86% (5 reviews) and 69% (120 ratings) on PC, 86% (47 reviews) and 72% (398 ratings) on PlayStation 4, 85% (7 reviews ) and 66% (67 ratings) on Xbox One. On Steam at the same time, there were 1,403 reviews for the game: 11% negative and 89% positive.

Capcom expects to sell 4 million copies of the game.

  • Free disk space: 24 GB
  • Additionally: Internet is required to activate the game. Basic hardware specifications are for 1080P/30FPS mode, recommended for 1080P/60FPS mode. Due to high video card memory requirements, it may be necessary to reduce texture quality or disable streaming textures.

A reboot that the series has long needed. Very successful, competent, and well-developed. It uses very simple and old-school mechanics, which are reminiscent of the first part, but nevertheless do not make the game outdated - on the contrary, well-chosen components in the form of studying the environment, hide and seek, shooting and riddles make the game very exciting. From the very first minutes it does not let go until the very end, there are only detailed locations connected to each other in style dark souls are worth a lot. The game was very atmospheric and moderately difficult (played on normal)

After playing, I realized that the gameplay was tailored for fucking VR, especially the construction of corridors and rooms. The keyboard and gamepad are secondary. Regarding the horror and fear experienced. As if in a couple of moments they were, but only because of the very dark room and the fucking growing atmospheric music. Most likely, the full power of horror can only be experienced in a VR helmet (otherwise why do we see the faces of the bosses a centimeter from the screen during all the close battles?). The gameplay itself is similar to the RE series: running around rooms, searching for keys, protecting from monsters (more often than not you can just run away and hide from them, some of them you can’t kill anyway), creating heals/cartridges, etc.
Pros: no door opening animation as such, a medicine for “seeing” all things within a radius of 7 meters, partial optimization for PC hardware (on average 50FPS).
Of the minuses: no matter how I changed the settings, the annoying lag with a drop to 5FPS when loading a new part of the level did not disappear.
They say that the game has several endings, I saw the one in which you need to choose Mia to save, not Zoe.
I don’t know why everyone faps on Zoe’s bra in the trailer, I like Mia’s face better (her black hair is gorgeous, unlike Zoe’s short haircut).
In general, if CAPCOM corrects the flaws mentioned above, then the toy is very good, AAA class after all.

I liked the noticeable attention to interior details, the overall picture (although it is unreasonably demanding of system resources; Alien is no worse, but much less voracious). An interesting and not off-putting quest component: leisurely exploration in a good way, interesting and atmospheric. The 1st person view is beneficial - the immersion effect is enhanced. The plot, unfortunately, is not compelling, it’s interesting to play for the sake of suspense itself - it’s done well. It is immediately clear that the authors took inspiration from “The Texas Chainsaw Massacre” - they are not a fan of manic cannibalistic themes. As for me, the game lacks overall length (with a couple of pseudo-endings, when it’s about to... well, no - keep playing, it’s not over yet!), variety of monsters and weapons, more free movement between locations (all -after all, the game turned out to be corridor-oriented). I also didn’t like any “system” of shelters (compared to the same “Alien”), it simply doesn’t exist: it’s impossible to hide from Baker’s “father”... you just have to run away and weave like a hare... and only in the first few steps (according to ignorance of the mansion), in 80-90%, if you fall into the clutches, you will end up dead! Works 4-5 times. Solutions to situations are not logically obvious, you have to try, try and try, or successfully reach a dubious and (once again..) not obvious script.

Action of a popular franchise "Resident Evil" invariably revolves around the Umbrella corporation developing a secret virus. Because of the accident that happened there, people turned into zombies. Alice, the heroine of Milla Jovovich, remains the only person on earth who is immune to the terrible disease. She will have to save the world from chaos while simultaneously confronting a powerful corporation and crowds of infected people.

Resident Evil 7 – release date The film remains a secret for now, we are waiting for news after the official release of the 7th part of the game and the final ratings of the 6th part of the film! Approximately the release will not be earlier than 2019.

The first part of the franchise was released in 2002, the current sixth film appeared in worldwide box office at the end of 2016.

Resident Evil 7: will there be a sequel?

Despite the fact that the sixth part is called “ Final chapter", there are persistent rumors about a seventh film. Even before production began, Paul W. S. Anderson made a statement that the future of Alice depended entirely on the reaction of audiences and critics, as well as on box office receipts.

Apparently that's why in the final the director decided to put an ellipsis instead of a period... Although Alice says many times in the film: “This is the end of my story,” a rich foundation is left for the development of further events. The audience was vaguely given to understand that the heroine had not yet finished the showdown with the remaining laboratories of the corporation.

We remind you that the films were based on the popular Japanese game, which is still in production. New game development Resident Evil 7: Biohazard gives fans of the franchise a reason to wait for revenge. These are mostly young people who like the survival horror genre. The success of previous films is due to the intense plot, spectacular special effects and great game actors.

The release date is the time point after which the game is considered released, which usually means that it can already be downloaded and tried if purchased licensed copy. For example, the release date for Resident Evil 7: Biohazard (Resident Evil 7) is January 24, 2017.

IN Lately More and more often, developers allow you to buy a game in advance - make a pre-order. In response to support from potential buyers who believe in the success of the project so much that they give money for it even before release, the developers share various bonuses and exclusive materials. This could be a soundtrack, an art book, or some mini-addons for the game.

Thus, pre-order actually allows you to buy the game before its official release, but this does not mean that the stated release date loses its significance, since you can fully play it only after release.

Why do you need to know game release dates?

If only because it’s more convenient to plan your time and finances. If you know, for example, when Resident Evil 7: Biohazard (Resident Evil 7) will be released, then it will be easier for you to navigate: set aside money in advance to purchase it, plan things so that you can immerse yourself in the game as soon as it comes out.

Many gamers track game release dates using special calendars and feature articles about the most important releases of the month or season. You can find both of these on our game portal website

How do developers choose the time to release?

They are guided by many factors at once. Firstly, it is important for them to know that their the target audience will be able to immediately join the gameplay, which is why games are released less often during the holiday season, as well as in those months when there is usually a rush at work, and students have a session.

Secondly, for a successful release, developers try to compare their plans with announcements of potential competitors. For example, if we are talking about a shooter, then releasing it simultaneously with the new Battlefield or Call of Duty is not very reasonable.

Thirdly, the release date indicates the so-called deadline - the very point after which the game is ready. This means that it must be completed within the stated time frame. Alas, this does not always work out, and therefore the release date of the game may be shifted one or even several times.

In addition to this, the release of Resident Evil 7: Biohazard (Resident Evil 7) on PC and consoles may differ - often developers try to release one version first, and only then move on to the next.
